Bodega Bay Boat Tours & Charters

Spud Point Marina in Bodega Bay

There’s nothing like standing on the deck of a boat, heading out for a day on the water. Whether you want to hook a fish, pull up a pot of crabs, or get up close with whales and other sea life, these companies offer a variety of adventures out of Bodega Bay on Sonoma County’s Pacific Ocean coastline.

For 35 years, Capt. Rick Powers, owner of Bodega Bay Sport Fishing Center, has helped innovate Northern California’s saltwater fishing. His Bodega Bay Sport Fishing Center offers charters almost daily for sport fishing and whale or bird watching, ash scatterings, weddings, and other special events. The center runs the 65-foot New Sea Angler and the 56-foot Surf Scooter, plus it’s stocked with tackle, bait, and snacks. Powers also owns nearby eatery The Boat House, where outdoor seating pairs perfectly with order-at-the-counter favorites like just-shucked oysters, fish and chips, and calamari, as well as hamburgers and sandwiches.

Bodega Bay Sailing

Take a three-hour sailing tour of Bodega Bay on a beautiful 33′ sailboat. You may spot whales, dolphins, sea lions, and harbor seals on this adventure for two to six people. Kids are welcome and make the trip even more fun. Go during the day or time a trip to catch a colorful sunset. You can also request a trip with a naturalist on board to hear fascinating facts about everything you see. The company also offers a three-day Extreme Sailing adventure from Bodega Bay to Point Reyes, Tomales Bay, and back. This tour is for the most adventurous and requires lots of hands-on participation.

North Bay Charters

Go on a fun-filled ocean fishing adventure for salmon, rockfish, crab, halibut, and more on the Take Five — a beautiful 31-foot Grady-White Express 305 that holds up to six passengers. Visit offshore tuna grounds or fish along the Sonoma County coast in spots like Tomales Bay, Point Reyes, Sausalito, and Shelter Cove. The 20-foot North River Seahawk can take up to four passengers fishing to places like San Francisco Bay, San Pablo Bay, and Lake Sonoma. Fishing gear is provided. The company also offers coastal exploration like San Francisco Giants game-day cruises to McCovey Cove, and cruises during the Fleet Week air show.
