Guerneville
Mine + Farm, the Inn at Guerneville
Updated from a 1906 farmhouse that previously served as the Sonoma Orchid Inn, Mine + Farm is set on 2.5 acres in the redwood-forested Russian River Valley. The husband-and-wife owners welcome guests to their adult-focused bed and breakfast, which offers 24-hour access to the communal lounge, dining area, and guest kitchen/market. The nine guest rooms here are dog-friendly and include private bathrooms, while the property offers amenities that include an outdoor hot tub for all guests.
The Highlands
Local chef and entrepreneur Crista Luedtke and Basecamp Hotels founder Christian Strobel acquired Guerneville’s historic Highlands Resort in summer 2021, reintroducing it as a straight- and LGBTQ-friendly property called The Highlands. Revamped cabin rooms have hot tubs, while the newly added Coyote Camp features canvas scout tents furnished with comfy king beds and sporting outdoor showers. Freshly baked muffins, quick breads, and scones welcome guests in the resort lobby.
The Stavrand Russian River Valley
On the six-acre estate previously known as the Applewood Inn, The Stavrand officially launched in September 2021 with fresh landscaping and burgeoning orchards surrounding its 21 guest rooms. Some of these rooms offer outdoor cedar hot tubs and gas fireplaces, while others provide skylights and jacuzzi tubs. Each stay includes a gourmet hot breakfast, a minibar welcome gift, chef-centric culinary experiences for guests, evening aperitif, portable lanterns for late-night strolls, and bicycles and kayaks to take exploring.
Dawn Ranch Resort
Following renovations, the 15-acre, century-old Dawn Ranch Resort property will reopen in Fall 2021 on the banks of the Russian River. The resort will remain dog-friendly, with individual cottages blending into a stunning landscape of redwoods, apple orchards, bamboo groves, grassy meadows, and flower gardens. Guests can enjoy private river access and a pool, while bar offerings include an extensive Russian River Valley wine list.
Santa Rosa
Flamingo Resort
This iconic mid-century modern hotel was originally designed by architect George Bernard Russell in 1957, and debuted a multimillion-dollar re-imagination this past summer. The 170-room resort has been restyled with reclaimed woods and river stones, installations and decor by area craftspeople and designers, and farm-to-table bar and restaurant menus. And in addition to the year-round heated pool and hot tub, guests receive access to an adjacent health club that includes five tennis courts, a lap pool, and a full-service spa.
Art House
Set in downtown Santa Rosa's walkable Cherry Street Historic District, this newly-built 36-room boutique hotel offers a mix of studios and two-bedroom apartment-style guest rooms with high ceilings, large kitchens, and in-unit laundry. True to the hotel's name, the lobby welcomes guests with an art gallery lounge featuring works by local artists.
Healdsburg
Wildhaven Sonoma
First opened in 2020, Wildhaven Sonoma's rustic-chic glamping resort welcomed 10 new safari-style tent cabins to their property this past summer, bringing the total units to 40. New updates include two hammocks for every Riverside Tent Cabin, and a personal fire pit and picnic table for all units. New experience offerings include yoga classes, wine tasting kits from nearby wineries, and live music.
The Madrona
A luxurious reincarnation of the famed Madrona Manor Inn will reopen in 2022 as The Madrona. Originally built in 1881 as a private residence, this upscale country hotel sits on 8 acres surrounded by gardens and vineyards. Guests will be housed across six buildings, with a mix of studios, suites, and bungalows featuring high ceilings, balconies, fireplaces, and private balconies or patios. Chef Jesse Mallgren will return to his Michelin-starred restaurant with a whimsical new menu.
Occidental
Sonoma Treehouse Adventures
Expanding on its forest-canopy tour operations, Sonoma Zipline Adventures has opened six overnight treehouses in its towering redwood grove. Equipped with private bathrooms and furnished with comfy queen-sized beds and bunk beds, each treehouse can accommodate up to four guests. Stays here include an eco-tour of 14 zip-lines, a guided hike, gourmet dinner and breakfast, and an evening spent under the stars.
Jenner
The Sunset House at River’s End Restaurant & Inn
This Sonoma Coast favorite has expanded its sprawling property, which is already home to one luxury guest room and four secluded cabins. In October 2021 they'll unveil their neighboring Sunset House, a two-bedroom, 2.5-bath private riverfront vacation rental with a chef’s kitchen, pool table, private deck, hot tub, and cascading ocean views. The house can accommodate up to six guests and requires a five-night minimum stay.

Sonoma Coast Villa
Set on 60 acres of Pacific Ocean coastline, the Tuscan-style Sonoma Coast Villa offers 18 villas and 1 private, 4-bedroom house. Select rooms feature wood-burning fireplaces, jetted tubs, large marble walk-in showers, and radiant heated floors. On Friday and Saturday evenings, the resort holds movie nights for guests that include beverages and snacks.

The Sea Ranch Lodge is reopening this Fall after a multi-million-dollar revitalization project that will feature a new dining room restaurant, solarium, bar and lounge, café, and general store.
