Award-winning wines come from Sonoma County’s more than 425 wineries. The Pacific coastline, redwood forests, valleys, and mountains create a range of terroirs and microclimates that make Sonoma County one of the most diverse and unique winegrowing regions in the world. Sonoma County includes 18 distinct American Viticultural Areas (AVAs), or appellations, including Sonoma Valley, Russian River Valley, Dry Creek Valley, and Sonoma Coast. Our wineries are known for a multitude of varietals, so there’s a bottle for you no matter your preference.

Sip on a rich red, like pinot noir, cabernet sauvignon, merlot, or zinfandel, or maybe you’d prefer a lighter chardonnay or sauvignon blanc. Don’t worry – we also have rosé if you fall somewhere in between. See for yourself how these wines come to be – many wineries offer behind-the-scenes wine education and wine tours for visitors to enjoy. Sonoma County was named Wine Region of the Year by Wine Enthusiast in 2019. Find more information about Wineries & Wine, then come visit and discover it for yourself.
