Join the global celebration of Giving Tuesday in Sonoma County
Sonoma County Tourism (SCT), the region’s destination stewardship organization, is calling on all wine lovers, foodies, adventure seekers and nature enthusiasts to give back and be a part of Sonoma County’s #GivingTuesday.
“Giving back to our destination on #GivingTuesday and every day is an essential pillar of our hospitality and tourism industry,” said Claudia Vecchio, CEO and President of Sonoma County Tourism. “Visitors can join in and support our welcoming community, culture, and natural resources by simply enjoying how #LifeOpensUp in Sonoma County or donating to our hard-working nonprofit organizations.”
Discover your next adventure at more than 55 Sonoma County Regional Parks with an annual membership to help preserve the natural beauty. Visitors can alco volunteer or donate to the Parks Foundation.
Donate or become a member at Sonoma Ecology Center to help prepare our communities and natural systems for the future. In the past 30 years, they have expanded the Jack London State Historic Park, established the Van Hoosear Wildflower Preserve, conducted prescribed fire to restore biodiversity, and much more.
Eat your heart out during the 20th Annual Dining Out For Life on December 2, 2021, where participating restaurants will donate a portion of their proceeds to support Food For Thought, a nonprofit organization providing nutritional produce and classes for those living with serious medical conditions. Donate $25 or more to Dining Out For Life and receive 20% off Tuesdays all year long in 2022 at participating restaurants throughout Sonoma County.
Enjoy and support local agriculture and Sonoma County’s food system by exploring Holidays Along The Farm Trails. Shop and explore a working farm for your holiday table and meaningful, farm fresh gift ideas.
Get a hands-on farm experience with nonprofit organizations helping ensure food security in Sonoma County. Take part in gleaning the surplus food from local farmers, garden growers, and property owners with Farm to Pantry, the Redwood Empire Food Bank, and Sonoma Family Meal. The nutritional, fresh produce are rescued from becoming food waste and distributed to those in need. Donations will help expand the reach of food assistance with projects like Sonoma Family Meal’s new community kitchen in a 3,100 square foot space in North Petaluma, which will be a home base for emergency food operations.
