The Vines

There has never been a better time that to visit Sebastopol.

  • Description
  • There has never been a better time that to visit Sebastopol. Sebastopol has the exuberant charm of an old-fashioned farming town. Thanks to Russian trappers, who first planted the Gravenstein apple in the 1800s, it became known as the Gravenstein capital of the world. But times change and beginning in the late 60s to the present time, apples continue to give way to grapes, particularly Burgundy varietals. Since the mid 1990s, Sebastopol has become a “new theater for wine grapes…first in blends, then in vineyard-designated wines.” (S.F Chronicle, 8.29.2008). Home ranches for some of the most notable wineries are located in and around Sebastopol. The house is located at the gateway to the Russian River and Sonoma Coast wine regions of Sonoma County, CA. The picturesque town of Healdsburg is just 25 miles to the north with its world-class shopping, ambiance, and restaurants.
