Sonoma County Rallies for Safety in New “Safe Travels Promise” Video
SONOMA COUNTY, California – As coronavirus restrictions continue to evolve in California, Sonoma County Tourism, the region’s official destination stewardship organization, unveiled a timely video as part of their recovery campaign, the “SAFE Travels Promise”, encouraging visitors to travel responsibly and #keepsonomasafe.
“We’re sure while you’re here, your life will open up while you enjoy our world class wineries, restaurants, and stunning natural resources,” said Sonoma County Tourism CEO Claudia Vecchio, in the video. “One thing is certain: We need to be sure our visitors, employees, and local residents are safe and healthy.”
The Safe Travels Promise Video features Sonoma County’s wide open spaces, ample outdoor activities, and urges everyone to be responsible and wear masks while vacationing. Spokespersons from local businesses, including Duskie Estes from Black Pig Meat Co.; Keo Hornbostel from Safari West; and Randy Johnson from Getaway Adventures, help reiterate the importance of being smart, safe, kind, and healthy in the messaging.
“Tourism isn’t dangerous, being irresponsible is,” said Crista Luedtke, chef/owner of boon eat + drink and proprietor of boon hotel + spa in Guerneville, Sonoma County. “It’s a simple ask, just wear a mask!”
The video is distributed on Sonoma County Tourism’s “Life Opens Up” page, on social media channels, and featured in a recent blog titled, “What To Expect When Visiting Sonoma County Wine Country”.
